Research and application advancement of intein

Comparisons between inteins and introns were reviewed,and the types and self-splicing mechanism of inteins were described briefly.The applications of inteins in biotechnology were introduced in detail and the advantages and limitation were analyzed.Finally the new direction for the future application was also suggested.
