Application Comparison of Fatty Alcohol Defoamer and Polyether Ester Defoamer in Papermaking White Water

Cationic guar gum and self-made chitosan were used as wet end assistants,and their effects on the Zeta potential,beating degree,dynamic filtration,single-pass retention,tensile strength and bulkness of reconstituted tobacco were studied in this paper.Results showed that compared with cationic guar gum,the influences of chitosan on Zeta potential,beating degree,dynamic filtration and single-pass retention were more obvious,and the higher of the deacetylation degree,the better of the results.All additives mentioned above could reduce reconstituted tobacco tensile strength and improve its bulkness,but the difference between them was small.Through orthogonal test,the application conditions of chitosan were optimized,as follows:the deacetylation degree of chitosan was 90%,the dosage of chitosan was 0.6%(based on bone dry stock quality),and the system pH was 6.
