Expression,Content and Clinical Significance of MICA in Epithelial Ovarian Cancer Tissues and in Serum of Patients
2012
Objective:To investigate the expression and content of major histocompatibility complex class I-related protein A (MICA)in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues and in serum of ovarian cancer. To explore clinical significance and the relationship between the expression of MICA and the epithelial ovarian cancer in the term of the different cell differentiation degree and histological type and clinical stages. Methods:The expressions of mMICA in 59 cases of ovarian cancer, 12 ovarian benign tumor and 15 normal ovarian tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry. The serum levels of soluble major histocompatibility complex class I-related protein A (sMICA) were assessed by MICA-specific enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Results:① The positive expression rate of mMICA in epithelial ovarian malignant and benign tumor tissues were 72.88% and 8.33%, the difference was statistically significant (P0.01); The positive expression rate of mMICA in moderately differentiated ovary cancer tissues was 63.16% while 90.48% in the poorly; in stageⅠ~Ⅱand stage Ⅲ~Ⅳ were 45.45% and 79.17% respectively, the difference was statistically significant (P0.05),There was no mMICA expression in the normal ovary epithelial tissues.②The serum levels of sMICA in epithelial ovarian malignant and benign tumor and health donors were 20.79±8.37 ng/ml, 9.98±1.75 ng/ml and 6.47±1.69 ng/ml respectively, the difference was statistically significant (P0.01).③ The positive expression rate of mMICA and the serum level of sMICA in different tissue type of epithelial ovarian cancer was no statistically significant (P0.05).Conclusions:The positive expression rate of mMICA and the serum levels of sMICA in epithelial ovarian cancer are correlated with the cell differentiation and clinical stage of ovarian cancer. The level of sMICA could be considered as one of symbol in auxiliary diagnosis and analysis the development of ovarian cancer.
