A Transparent Encryption Scheme of Video Data for Android Devices

2017
As mobile security, especially data security, is gaining more and more attention; most mobile phone users protect their data with encryption. At present, data can be effectively preserved through third-party encryption software and Google full disk encryption technology. The operation of the third-party encryption software is not convenient and requires manual encryption. Full disk encryption uses a powerful encryption algorithm to automatically protect all data stored on the phone, consuming resources and being inefficient. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes the transparent encryption technology of mobile phone video which doesn't change the user operation habit, while encrypts the document at the same time. We have not also studied how video files work in the Android kernel, but also applied the Windows file redirection and transparent encryption technology to achieve mobile video data transparent encryption. We provide the implementation of this scheme on the HTC phone, to assess the feasibility and performance of the transparent encryption techniques. The theoretical analysis and experimental result demonstrate that the solution can automatically encrypt the video data to prevent the file from being stolen. These transparent encryption techniques for video data can also be applied to other types of files and Android phones, which have important significance for data security research.
