Comparison of the various approaches of stem cell transplantation in liver cirrhosis

Liver cirrhosis is the end-stage of all sorts of chronic liver disease.The encouraging advances in stem cells have paved the way towards the treatment of the end-stage of the chronic liver disease in recent years,which also expected to be an alternative and prospective way.Stem cell transplantation for cirrhosis is characterized by simple,repeatable,lower immunogen and lower costs.There are some various approaches by stem cell transplantation via the peripheral vein,the portal vein,the hepatic artery,intrahepatic injection,et al.The studies on comparing the experimental research on stem cell transplantation are less,and the therapeutic effects of different transplantation approaches are also uncertain.In this paper,we reviewed the approaches of stem cell transplantation and their advantages and disadvantages in cirrhosis.
