Entwicklung und Erfahrungen mit einem Therapieunterstützungs- und Dokumentationssystem für die Intensivmedizin

A software package for use in intensive care unit has been developed for personal computers. This software package is a program with an integrated expert data system. Besides compiling all patient-pertinent personalia, the expert data system can process and analyze all laboratory data, clinical observations, and measured data normally compiled on an ICU. Normal range values which have been compiled in the expert data system allow prompt recognition of abnormalities and disturbances. Under consideration of contraindications, antagonistic, synergistic and other interactions, the expert system can make suggestions for basic therapy regimens as well as for necessary corrected therapy approaches. Aside from disturbance analysis and therapy-planning assistance offered by the program documentation of the patient’s state in form of a bed-side ICU chart with fluid and electrolyte balancing as well as separate graphic portrayals of parameters and values can be performed by the program.
