A low-offset current-mode CMOS vertical hall sensor microsystem with four-phase spinning current technique

This paper introduces a low-offset and high-sensitivity CMOS vertical Hall sensor microsystem with the integrated front-end. A current-mode four-phase spinning current method and a current negative feedback loop technique are proposed, which enables both the effective elimination of offset and 1/f noise and the great improvement of current sensitivity for CMOS vertical Hall device. Designed by a 0.8-μm high-voltage CMOS technology, the current-mode vertical Hall sensor obtains a residual offset of less than 0.3mT and a high Hall voltage linearity up to 99.9%.
