Experimental Study on the Separation of Copper and Zinc for a Polymetallic Sulphide Ore

2012
Experimental study is carried out on the separation of copper and zinc for a polymetallic sulphide ore.Test results indicate that it is difficult to completely separate copper and zinc after the fine grinding of raw ore, because part of chalcopyrite, sphalerite and pyrite is not prone for monomer liberation.Through test study, the flowsheet of inhibition of zinc and flotation of copper as well as regrinding of copper raw concentrate is used associated with combined depressant to inhibit sphalerite and pyrite.Effective separation of copper and zinc is achieved.
