Regulation of Hepatic Gluconeogenesis by Glucagon in the Rat

Glucagon (2 × 10−9 M) increased the rates of gluconeogenesis, ureogenesis and ketogenesis by the perfused isolated rat liver. Glucagon to insulin ratios of 2.6 reversed all the metabolic effects induced by the administration of glucagon alone.
