The invention discloses an adaptive projector image correction method and system. The method comprises the steps of: calibrating a camera on a projector, and after carrying out distortion correction on a first projection image acquired by the camera according to a calibration result, generating a second projection image; carrying out line detection on the second projection image, carrying out clustering and acquiring a first line parameter of a border of a curtain; projecting a designated image by the projector to generate a third projection image, and acquiring a second line parameter of a straight line in the designated image in the third projection image; regulating a third line parameter of the straight line in the designated image, and until the second line parameter and the first line parameter are smaller than a preset threshold value, generating a mapping table from an original image to an effective projection region; and according to the mapping table, projecting the original image and generating a corrected fourth projection image. According to the adaptive projector image correction method and system disclosed by the invention, by utilizing a machine visual analysis algorithm, projection contents are automatically and perfectly projected onto the curtain, so that a user is not requested to manually regulate the attitude of the projector, and the use convenience degree is greatly improved.
