Test of usable sputter target size in the Florida-State-University-type inverted sputter ion source

Diagrams of the sputter target and plots of beam current as a function of the sputter target size and selected defining aperture are presented in an attempt to determine the smallest sputter target (cone) size usable to obtain reasonable negative ion beams. (JFP)
