Automation in mining

Presents the prospects of automation in mining in general and reviews automation systems developed at the POMAG Enterprise for Mining Mechanization and Automation Services and at other Polish works. The following automation systems are described: automatic control of coal plow operation in longwalls, electro-hydraulic control systems for powered supports (RADIAN 1301), heading machine control systems (the MUSK-2 laser system), the MISAT, PL-10-Rk and PUMA-2 conveyor automation systems, the PULS-84 jig control system, the UDOF and FLOTASTER flotation agent control system, the ALFA-03 coal fine quality and GAMI-2 brown coal quality monitoring systems, methanometers, methane monitoring systems, and an electric current leakage protection system.
