PURPOSE: A anodal active material capable of facilitating de-intercalation and occulusion of lithium ions, a manufacturing method thereof and a lithium battery including the same are provided to improve input and output properties and high rate properties. CONSTITUTION: A anodal active material includes carbon-based materials. The peak of the carbon-based materials for (002) surface in X-ray diffraction spectrum is shown in the bragg 2Θ angle 26.4 ± 0.1 degrees. The full width at half maximum for the (002) surface is 0.2-0.6 degree. The surface distance (d002) of the (002) surface by the X-ray diffraction analysis method is 3.36-3.37 A. The size of crystallite determined by full width at half maximum for the (002) surface is 10-45 nano meters. The lithium battery comprises a positive electrode which includes the positive electrode active materials, a negative electrode which includes negative electrode active materials, and electrolytes interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode.
