Application of late embryogenesis abundant protein and coding gene thereof in culturing drought-resistant transgenic cotton

2011
The invention relates to application of late embryogenesis abundant protein (LEA) and a coding gene thereof in culturing drought-resistant transgenic cotton. The amino acid sequence of the LEA is represented by the sequence having a GeneBank accession number of ABG54481, and the nucleotide sequence of the coding gene is represented by the sequence having a GeneBank accession number of DQ663481. According to the invention, the LEA gene is recombinated into a plant expression vector and then transformed into cotton cells and expressed so as to obtain transgenic plants; plants of T3 generation which are genetically stable are screened from the transgenic plants and later generation plants thereof and are cultured to obtain new germplasm of bred drought-resistant cotton, and thereby a novel material for drought-resistant breeding of cotton is created for culturing conventional varieties or hybrid varieties of cotton.
