The present invention discloses a method used to set the calibration test to evaluate stability of the North reference, comprising: (1) using a theodolite Polaris obtain true north azimuth, and lead it to the prisms on the Piers i.e. the north and the reference mirror prism collimate collimated the north reference prism fixed on the pier position as a north reference; (2) using the theodolite above north determined to the reference prism North cited to the reference to the IMU calibration prism device on the turntable, i.e., north to the positioning of the prism, and calibration after the theodolite with the north registration to the positioning of the prism mirror straight as IMU positioning north device; (3 IMU calibration device repeatedly north reference data acquired based on the positioning north, and treated to obtain the north reference stability the evaluation test results of the method of the present invention solves the problem of monitoring the stability of north reference, the inertia system effectively provides support; the test method of operating a safe and reliable test curve directly and accurately.
