THE STRUCTURE AND SUPPORT OF A LABORATORY CONTROL AND DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM

This paper traces the development of the data acquisition systems which have been developed and brought into use within the Culham Laboratory over the last 12 years. It highlights the strong influence of the CAMAC standard on the later developments and additions to these systems and on the maintenance and support arrangements provided. The support and maintenance schemes currently in use in the Laboratory are briefly described.
