Composition of the products of the nitric acid oxidation of combustible shales

The paper gives results of the comparative oxidation of samples of combustible shales of the Kenderlykskaya, Karaungurskaya, and Saikanskaya suites of the Kenderlykskoe deposit. Gas-chromatographic analyses have shown considerable differences in the composition of the aliphatic mono- and dicarboxylic acids and the benzenecarboxylic acids formed on the oxidation of the shales from different suites.
