Determination of Total Flavonoids and Rutin in Ephorbia helioscopia L. from Chongqing

[Objective] To establish methods for determining contents of total flavonoids and rutin in Ephorbia helioscopia L.from Chongqing,so as to provide a scientific basis for further development and utilization of its resources and quality control.[Methods] Contents of total flavonoids and rutin were respectively determined by aluminium trichloride colorimetric method and HPLC.[Result] Contents of total flavonoids and rutin in Ephorbia helioscopia L.from Chongqing were 5.485-5.742 and 0.769-0.811 mg/g,respectively.[Conclusion] The method was simple,rapid,accurate and stable that was suitable for quality analysis of total flavonoids and rutin in Ephorbia helioscopia L..
