TM mode optical waveguide isolator with 8.8 dB/mm nonreciprocal propagation induced by ferromagnetic MnAs

A 1540 nm, TM mode waveguide isolator based on the nonreciprocal loss shift was developed. It consisted of a semiconductor waveguide with a ferromagnetic MnAs layer and showed an isolation ratio of 8.8 dB/mm.
