Data Acquisition Strategies for Operational Decision Making in a Deepwater Turbidite Environment

The Kamunsu East (KME) field, located 16km NW of the Kebabangan field in deepwater Sabah, was discovered in 1998. The field is comprised a series of gas bearing channel and levee/overbank Kamunsu fan reservoirs. The discovery well drilled a stacked channel system that is interpreted to incise earlier channel/levee deposits. The structure is delineated by conformable amplitudes and a predominant flatspot at the hydrocarbon contact.
