Spray dried and emulsified polymer, its preparation, pct-processing assistant consisting thereof and molding material contg. the same

PURPOSE: To obtain a spray dried and emulsified polymer which consists of pulverulent flocculated latex particles and are adequate for a PCV processing assistant by spray drying an aq. dispersion of an emulsified polymer contg. a compatible high boiling softening agent and having a specific Vicat softening temp. CONSTITUTION: The aq. dispersion of the emulsified polymer [more preferably the polymer consisting of 70 to 100% methyl methacrylate, 0 to 20% alkali (meth)acrylate and 0 to 10% copolymerizable other vinyl monomer] contg. the compatible high boiling softening agent (e.g. dibutyl phthalate, etc.), preferably at 1 to 8 (wt.)% and having the Vicat softening temp. of ≥60°C, preferably 80 to 130°C is spray dried, by which the pulverulent spray dried and emulsified polymer partially half melted or melted with each other is obtd. When this emulsified polymer is mixed as the PVC processing assistant with PVC, the working characteristics are improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
