Effects of Mo Alloying on Comprehensive Properties of 4J36

2012
The expansion alloy made by Mo alloying of 4J36 has a low coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE) and high strength. The sample was prepared by melting, forging and heat treatment. The mechanism of performance improvement was analyzed according to the theory of magnetostrictive and fine grain strengthening on the basis of chemical analysis, metallographic, scanning electron microscopy, grain size, microhardness and CTE testing. The result shows that the strength of matrix is improved by Mo alloying and the CTE is lower than that of the expansion alloy manual requirement.
