Effects of the Ternary Element(C,B) Additions on Phase Constitution and Magnetostriction of Fe_(83)Ga_(17) Alloys
2010
To study the phase composition and magnetostriction of (Fe83Ga17)100-xMx(x=0,0.5,1,1.5;M=C,B) under non-equilibrium solidification conditions,(Fe83Ga17)100-xMx(x=0,0.5,1,1.5;M=C,B) alloys are prepared by blow-casting method. It shows that as-cast alloys to keep the disordered A2(bcc-Fe(Ga))structure.C and B additions have a significant impact for microstructure of alloys.C complete solid solution in the bcc-Fe.B additions accumulate in the grain boundary, and the grains are regional directional arrangement.C and B additions on the magnetostrictive properties of Fe83Ga17 alloy is inhibited.C additions increase the elastic modulus, there is the largest value of the magnetostriction when x=1.Adding B into the alloys have a significant impact for the organizations, with the increase of B content in the alloys engenderes the casting texture, and generates rich-Fe2B phase, there is the largest value of the magnetostriction when x=1.5.
