Patrones prosódicos en construcciones enumerativas - una visión desde la perspectiva del contacto Español - Quechua

2018
In this contribution, we analyze list constructions as pre-established schemas in Quechua, Andean Spanish and peninsular Spanish, focusing on the role of their prosodic patterns. In a language contact scenario we consider routinization in form and function of theses units as a process of grammaticalization in a broad perspective. Our data suggests a strong entanglement of Andean Spanish syntactic patterns and the prosodic patterns from Quechua. This leads to new list construction types in this variety: one more pragmaticalized version, through the strengthening of the iconic function in the vocal lengthening of the second to last syllable of every list item; another one that follows a new subjectivization path through the development of aspects of negotiation of epistemic authority by the accentuation of the first syllables of the last word of every list item. In comparison to the subjectivization process that we find in peninsular Spanish lists constructions, these observations can be considered as processes of constructional change (Traugott/Trousdale 2013) that foster new grammaticalization paths for lists in Andean Spanish (in the sense of Traugott 2010).
