A primary study on applying Delphi method for performance appraisal indicators of nursing staff in general hospitals of first-class

Objective:To establish performance appraisal indicators of nursing staff in general hospitals of first-class,and make the assessment objective and fair,so as to prompt the incentive of nursing staff.Methods:Totally 24 clinical nursing specialists were interviewed with two rounds in order to further collect the opinions and suggestions about the appraisal indicators by the method of Delphi.Results:The effective response rate of the experts' questionnaire for the first round and the second round was 100% and 91.7%.In this study different levels of nursing managers came from 4 general hospitals of first-class in Shanghai,the authority of the experts was 0.89,which indicated the result was desirable.Conclusion:The performance appraisal indicators of nursing staff screened by Delphi method included four parts,the quality of work(twelve items),workload(six items),the ability of work(twenty-six items),work attitude(fourteen items).
