Mobilization of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) for clinical transplantation

SUMMARY Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) transplantation is a therapeutic strategy developed in the last two decades of the past century and now is a form of care or long-term control for many congenital or acquired, neoplastic and non-neoplastic blood disorders. For years, HSCs source used for transplantation has been bone marrow. This review analayzes current knowledge and clinical strategies to mobilize in peripheral blood HSCs for clinical transplantation in the G-CSF and Plerixafor era.
