Clinical investigation on KS-X acrylic preloaded intraocular lens implantation

2010
Objective To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of KS-X acrylic preloaded intraocular lens implantation. Methods 92 patients (100eyes) with age-related cataract were performed with phacoemulsification and KS-X acrylic preloaded intraocular lens implantation. The visual acuity, phacoemulsification time, lens implantation time, the endothelial cell loss percentage, astigmatism and operative complications were observed. Results The visual acuity equal or better than 0.5 were 91%, 94% and 97% one day, one month and three month after surgery respectively. The best corrected visual acuity equal or better than 0.8 three month after surgery was 84%. The phacoemulsification time was 26.45± 13.95sec and mean phacoemulsification energy was 12.71 ± 8.21%. The lens implantation time was 12.31±3.41 sec. The endothelial cell loss percentage was 11.92% one month after surgery. The surgery induced astigmatism were 1.14± 0.29D, 0.89± 0.31 D and 0.76± 0.36 D one week, one month and three month after surgery respectively. There was no operative complication during surgery. Conclusions The KS-X acrylic preloaded intraocular lens implantation are safe and effective. The preloaded injector system is simple, quick, safe and clean.
