Infectious endophthalmitis : a review of 100 cases

The authors reviewed the outcome of treatment of 100 consecutive patients with the diagnosis of infectious endophthalmitis. The parameters evaluated included age; sex; therapy; preoperative, postoperative, and six-month visual acuities; year of treatment; organisms of corneal ulcers. The organisms isolated were as follows: gram-positive organisms, 42%; gram-negative organisms, 9%; fungal organisms, 6%; and mixed infections, 3%
