Photoacoustic study of some ferroelectric ceramics and related materials

1997
Abstract Photoacoustic techniques including photoacoustic comprehensive measurement meter, photoacoustic spectroscope and electron acoustic microscope were used to study the photoacoustic effect of piezoelectric ZnO thin films and the piezoelectric coefficients(e33, e31), the phase transition in ferroelectric ceramics, PSZT and semiconductor BaTiO3 ceramics, spatial distributions of polarization in PSZT ceramics, direct observation of domain structures of BaTiO3 ceramics, surface and subsurface texture of diamond film, residual stress distribution of sodium glass and polycrystalline aluminum. The results show that the photoacoustic techniques have their own advantages over the existed methods. The experimental set-up and the generation mechanism of the acoustic signal were also described in the paper.
