THE LATEST TECHNIQUES IN SUPRESSING REINFORCED CONCRETE DETERIORATION. CORROSION OF REINFORCEMENT IN CONCRETE. PAPERS PRESENTED AT THE THIRD INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON "CORROSION OF REINFORCEMENT IN CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION", BELFRY HOTEL, WISHAW, WARWICKSHIRE, MAY 21-24, 1990

1990
Most of the buildings owned by National Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) are made of reinforced concrete that average about 20 years old. As is true of reinforced concrete buildings in general, those owned by NTT are also beginning to show various signs of wear and deterioration. This has led NTT's Building Engineering Department to develop a range of techniques to enhance the durability of existing buildings constructed of reinforced concrete. Of the various techniques that have been devised, two will be introduced in this paper: a method of suppressing concrete carbonation and a method of suppressing the corrosion of existing rebar embedded in the concrete.(A) For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 831449.
