Wadi Fatima Fold-thrust Belt

This book investigates Wadi Fatima fold-thrust belt in West Central Arabian Shield, East African Orogen. This belt involves the post-amalgamation Fatima Group volcanosedimentary sequence that was deposited over a Neoproterozoic basement complex. The tectonic evolution of the whole Wadi Fatima District is discussed. The Fatima Group and the underlying basement rocks exhibit various structural elements due to the effect of the Pan-African Orogeny. Geologic structures in the basement rocks are mainly transpressive. In Fatima Group, a wonderful geometric and kinematic relations between folding and thrusting are observed.
