Fiber composites and their use in vacuum insulation systems

The present invention relates to a fiber composite comprising high-performance polymeric fibers and binder fibers, wherein the fiber composite wt .-% of high-performance polymeric fibers and at most 30 wt .-% binder fibers comprising at least 70, the fiber composite comprising a layered arrangement of the fibers and at least a portion of the fibers through contact points connected to one another is obtainable by softening of the binder fibers. Moreover, the present invention relates to an insulation system comprising a fiber composite according to the invention.
