Antonín Truhlář a jeho sbírka gelenian v Knihovně Národního muzea

2014
Zikmund Hrubý of Jeleni (Sigismundus Gelenius), son of the Czech intellectual and translator Gregor Hrubý of Jeleni, spent 30 years of his life in Basle where he was employed as a corrector and editor in the Froben printing house. He cooperated with Erasmus and Beatus Rhenanus on editions of Greek and Roman classical authors. In the 19th century he became an object of research of Czech philologists and literary historians. Antonin Truhlař, the devoted expert on the Czech Literature and bibliophile, collected works by Gelenius and donated this collection in 1898 to the Library of the National Museum. In the present paper, the provenance of books in this collection is analyzed.
