Oral tissue regeneration: Current status and future perspectives

Abstract Oro-dental diseases affect a lion’s share of global population suggesting the increasing demand for novel regenerative strategies. This chapter throws insights into the pathological implications of common oro-dental disorders and discusses the advancements in the diverse regenerative strategies. The current understanding regarding the tissue engineering and regenerative strategies adopted for the management of oro-dental disorders has been reviewed with an emphasis of biomaterials and stem cells. In addition, the challenges and alternative strategies have been briefed.
