Rheological and textural characteristics of skin lotions
2002
Skin lotions of both O/W and W/O types were studied by rheology and by sensory texture profile analysis in the temperature range of 10 - 25°C. The apparent viscosity was more affected by temperature than the sensory characteristics. Distinct differences were observed between O/W and W/O emulsions. Relations between the apparent viscosity, spreadability and other textural characteristics were semilogarithmic with relatively low correlation coefficients.
