Etude comparée de l’âge et de la croissance du dipneuste africain Protopterus annectens (Owen 1839, Protopteridea) en état d’hibernation et de non hibernation au Burkina Faso

Protopterus annectens a fait l’objet de tres peu d’etudes au Burkina Faso. Pourtant, cette espece est tres bien connue des populations locales grâce a sa faculte d’hibernation au niveau des berges des plans d’eau. C’est dans le but de palier a ce gap d’informations que cette etude a ete menee sur l’âge et la croissance de cette espece pendant ces deux etats ecologiques differents a savoir en etat d’hibernation et de non hibernation. Pendant la meme periode, deux sites ont ete choisis pour cette etude. Il s’agit de la retenue d’eau du barrage n⁰3 de Ouagadougou ou l’espece hibernait et celle du barrage de Boura ou elle vivait librement dans l’eau. Ainsi les travaux de scalimetrie ont montre que les individus en hibernation au barrage n⁰3 de Ouagadougou etaient âges de 1 a 3 ans tandis que ceux du barrage de Boura, de 1 a 2 ans. L’etude a aussi montre que l’espece a une croissance isometrique dans le barrage n°3 de Ouagadougou et une croissance allometrique negative dans le barrage de Boura. Les parametres de croissance et d’exploitation estimes a l’aide de l’equation de Von Bertalanffy indiquent au barrage urbain n°3 de Ouagadougou, L ∞ = 71,620 cm, K=0,37 an -1 , t 0 = -0,12 ans et au barrage de Boura, L ∞ = 58,011cm, K=0,99 an -1 , t 0 = -0,001 ans. La mortalite totale (Z) et le taux d’exploitation (E) sont respectivement de 3,25 an -1 et 0,56 au barrage de Boura, d’ou une surexploitation de l’espece au niveau du barrage de Boura. © 2019 International Formulae Group. However, in the local communities, it is a very well-known species due to its ability to hibernate. In order to overcome this gap of information regarding the species ability, hibernation and non-hibernation. The investigations were conducted in two research sites that are: urban dam n⁰ 3 of Ouagadougou where the species hibernated and Boura dam where it lived freely in the water. The results of the scalimetry method showed that the ages ranged from 1-3 then 1-2 years old respectively at the selected Ouagadougou dam and the  Boura dam. In addition, the study reportedthat the species has an isometric growth in urban dam n⁰ 3 of Ouagadougou and a negative allometric growth in the Boura dam. The estimated growth and exploitation parameters using the Von Bertalanffy equation indicate at urban dam n⁰ 3 of Ouagadougou, L ∞ = 71.620 cm, K = 0.37 year -1 , t 0 = -0.12 years. At the Boura dam, these parameters were as follows: L ∞ = 58.011cm, K = 0.99 year -1 , t 0 = -0.001 years.
