Application of Top-Down Strategy to Product Serialization Design

The advantages of Top-Down strategy are introduced and two different kinds of Top-Down design methods are compared in this paper.Compared with the Top-Down design method of skeleton,the Top-Down design method of master model is a better approach.The design flow of Top-Down design method of master model and the design procedure of product serialization design by Top-Down design method of master model are illustrated in this paper.Its application in real situation is verified by example of 19″ standard drawer.The result shows that Top-Down design method of master model is a good approach to achieving rapid design for product serialization design.
