A Fully Automated, Compact, Portable Device for Detecting Changes at the 10 ppm Level in the Refractive Index of Fluids

We demonstrate an optical device that can record in real-time the refractive index of fluids with an accuracy of at least 10-5. Our refractometer is fully automated, compact, inexpensive, and has no mechanical moving parts.
