Examination of measurement apparatus for 2D magnetic properties

2013
The development of highly efficient electrical rotating machines is an important issue in energy conservation. To realize this goal, we must consider the details of magnetic phenomena in rotating machines. Therefore, an accurate evaluation of 2D magnetic properties is indispensable. However, it is very difficult to measure these properties, especially under high magnetic induction, due to the difficulty in measuring rotating magnetic properties in electrical steel sheets. In this paper, a new apparatus with an eight-tooth-core, distributed windings, and interpoles, is proposed in order to measure 2D magnetic properties. We evaluate the uniformity of magnetic conditions in specimens by finite element analysis. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
