Tidal flow analysis for channel arrangement of extension for Longkou Port

The 2-D tidal mathematical model of Longkou bay is established in orthogonal coordinate system.The tidal flow characteristic and distributing rule of Longkou bay were analyzed based on the result of simulation.New channel layout that is placed to deep water range of southwest of Qimu island head is proposed,in this place,angle is smaller between flow direction and channel direction,channel is more stabilization and ship movement is more safe.Tidal flow characteristics that were affected on double reaction of port plane layout plan and channel extension plan were researched.The result indicates,with dock and channel planed at the deep water area where is sheltered from Qimu island,the flow field is smooth at the range of dock and channel,tidal flow direction is parallel with channel direction and front edge of the dock.
