An Analysis of Organization Ethical Climate Influence, Intention and Socially Responsible Investment Behavior Among Unit Trust Fund Managers in Malaysia

2011
This study examines the impact of ethical climate on perceived socially responsible investment (SRI) behavior among unit trust fund managers, with the intention of acting as a mediating variable. Employing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique, the study fit the model requirements, and found that a caring climate significantly impacts perceived SRI behavior. It significantly indirectly affects perceived SRI behavior through intention. However, it found no evidence to support the role of instrumental climate. Lower response rate is a major concern; nevertheless it provides understanding on ethical climate, intention and behavior interaction in the context of SRI in emerging economic settings like Malaysia.
