Voith hybrid systems for railway vehicles

The subject of energy efficiency has been moved into the forefront by increasing fuel prices, and environmental awareness is growing, as well. With this in mind, this article showcases three different products for diesel-powered railway vehicles with the goal of reducing noise, NOx, particles and CO2, as well as improving energy efficiency. The first is a hydrostatic braking energy recovery system, the second is an electrical braking energy recovery system, and the third is a waste heat recovery system.
