Geometric Location Matching Experiments of Atmospheric Vertical Sounders on FY-3A Satellite

2007
With the increase in number of instruments on board of satellites, the data transmitted by satellite possess of continuously increasing data types, using the limited data sources to get multi-satellite or multi-instrument remote sensing information can enhance the ability of remote detection to objectives, improve the accuracy and efficiency of remote sensing, and expand the application extension of satellite data.Based on the simulated FY-3A satellite Level 1 data, with the method of building look-up table to study the matching techniques of the Microwave humidity sounder(MWHS),Microwave temperature sounder(MWTS) and Infrared atmospheric sounder(IRAS) brightness temperature data, map both MWHS and MWTS data to IRAS observed location, and analyzed the matching techniques effect. The results show when the mutual matching instruments with nearly spatial resolution, such as MWHS data matching to IRAS observed location(15 kilometers resolution map to 17 kilometers resolution),the matched brightness temperature well keep the origin information, while the mutual matching instruments with widely different spatial resolution, for instance MWHS data matched to MWTS observed location(15 kilometers resolution map to 50 kilometers resolution),in general the matched pictures kept the primal data information, only some weak detailed information been lost. The matched satellite data of atmospheric vertical sounders provide ampliative data sources for vertical sounding.
