Iron-ore enrichment by magnetic hydroseparation
2011
The magnetic hydroseparator is described. Thanks to the replacement of magnetic separation drums by hydraulic separation, this new system for extracting hematite (and the magnetite that it contains) permits extraction levels greater than 5%. As a result, the metal balance in blast-furnace smelting may be improved, with corresponding gain in blast-furnace efficiency, reduction in coke consumption, and reduction in production costs.
