Development of an upgraded meteoroid model

Abstract First results of the development of an upgraded meteoroid model are presented here which use the latest interplanetary dust measurements from the impact ionization detectors aboard the Galileo and Ulysses spacecraft as well as intensities of the zodiacal thermal emission. This work is based upon the 'Five populations of interplanetary meteoroids' model of Divine /1/. As an important application of this model, the calculation of fluxes onto Earth-orbiting satellites is discussed using both gravitational focusing and shielding of the Earth.
