Modification of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene with nanoparticles of titanium subgroup metal oxides

2015
A method for modifying ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene with nanoparticles of titanium subgroup metal oxides was considered, which consists in the interaction of organic oxygen donors with halides of titanium and other titanium subgroup metals directly in the polymer matrix. Forming in the polymer matrix, nanosized particles of oxides are incapable of agglomeration and have a noticeable effect on the properties of the polymer. In particular, they change the glass transition temperature and the temperature of the onset of melting, and also the dielectric permittivity over a wide temperature range.
