Ermöglicht der Längenpolymorphismus am Promotor der Thymidylatsynthase eine Responseprädiktion beim neoadjuvant therapierten lokal fortgeschrittenen Magenkarzinom

Thymidylate synthase (TS) is an important target enzyme for the fluoropyrimidines. The TS gene promotor possesses regulatory repeated sequences that are polymorphic: homozygous with 2R/ 2R, homozygous with 3R/3R and heterozygous with both alieis 2R/3R. This length polymophism has been reported to influence TS expression. High levels of TS expression have been associated with poor response to 5-FU based chemotherapy and poor survival in the bl]Literature. In the present study we investigated whether the TS genotype was associated with response or prognosis in locally advanced neoadjuvantly treated gastric carcinomas.
