Study on regenerative braking and control strategy for electric vehicles

The restraint factors of brake energy consumption and recovery are analyzed.An electric vehicle with front-wheel drive is taken as the study object,and based on the traditional vehicle braking theory,a combined control strategy of front and rear brake force distributions is proposed,in which the combination of regenerative braking and friction braking is adopted.The Simulink model for the regenerative braking system is constructed based on Matlab/Simulink and Advisor.Simulation of typical driving cycles is conducted and the results show that the joint control strategy can satisfy the requirement of regenerative braking effectively and the energy of regenerative braking can be up to 14.13%.
