Variation of Endogenous Hormone Contents in Sesame Hybrids and Its Relationship with Heterosis

2011
Sesame has strong heterosis. In this study, strong positive(95ms-2×05-479) and negative(95ms-2×Aizibai) heterosis sesame hybrids were used as plant materials to evaluate endogenous hormone content at seedling stage and determine its relationship with yield performance. The result showed that IAA was undetectable in sesame. The contents of JA,SA and ABA ranged from 0.05 to 35.02 ng/g(FW).The strongest heterosis was observed for SA content.Furthermore,JA and SA were significantly positively correlated with seed yield, indicating that SA and JA were important for the formation of yield heterosis.
