NAD synthase NMNAT acts as a chaperone to protect against neurodegeneration

The NAD synthase NMNAT (nicotinamide mononucleotide adenylyltransferase) protects against a various forms of neurodegeneration. This paper shows that NMNAT does so by virtue of its newly discovered chaperone activity.
